I LOVE this book series, Author Jeanne McDonald pulls you in during the prologue and has you running to buy the next installment moment it is out! It turned me into a mini stalker because I'm dying for my next dose of Mickie and Drew. My heart ached and I cried right along with Mickie during parts of the story. In others, I laughed until I had tears.

McKenzie Evans "Mickie" is stuck in relationship that just has her going through the motions. Mickie feels unwanted, unworthy, and a burden to her longtime boyfriend. This is a place any woman wants to be in. That all changes when she finally agrees to have dinner with her best friend Olivia Hamilton and meet her new sexy, successful boyfriend Andrew Wise. The moment "Mickie" locks eyes on him she knows she's in trouble.

Andrew Wise "Drew" is the kind of man all us ladies want. He's hot as hell, passionate about his job, and just enough arrogance not to cause us to scream! Throughout the book, I found myself loving the brooding Drew more and more. The more I learned about him the more I understood and needed more of him.

The sexual frustration drove me mad! I could not wait for these two finally talk about how they felt for one another! Talk about growling at two characters for being stubborn!

This story has many layers that Author Jeanne McDonald slowly peels away before our eyes. She does an amazing job at intertwining her characters throughout the entire Truth in Lies Saga.

This was a really good romance. Full of heartbreak turned to happiness turned back to heartbreak, you will need a box of tissues to read this.
This is not a typical chick lit beach read. If that’s what you’re looking for, this is the wrong book for you. This is a saga, just like the title suggests. And like any true saga, this book takes you on a journey, one that will make you feel, think, and grow. It has ups, downs, good and bad, but you will find yourself still thinking about this book and the characters long after it is over.
Truth in Lies is about a young woman named McKenzie, and her relationships with Nate, Drew, Jared and Olivia. It will have you laughing, crying, shaking your head, and reeling in disbelief. There were times I had to set the book down and take a break because of the intensity of the scene I had just read. The story arc is amazingly complicated, but beautifully laid out in perfect clarity. It had an unpredictable story line, and there was so much more to the story than just a “he said, she said” plot. There is a lot of information given to the reader in the first few chapters, but it all is presented so organically, nothing feels forced or rushed.
The way the author can describe a scene and set your mind for the experience is true story weaving at its finest. The book takes place on the Florida coast, and descriptions of the sand, surf, moonlight, music, it all painted a picture in my head that was very realistic. There were quirks thrown in for every character, making them all flawed, achingly real, and seemingly human to me. The “nerd” in me LOVED some of the quirks, BBT and Trekkie especially, had me cracking up. I mean, really, what pet owner hasn’t named at least 1 of their pets for a beloved character?
This book has been professionally edited and it shows. I am bad about putting a book down for grammatical errors and using the wrong context of the word. I happily made my way through this book without those headaches.
All in all, this book is a raw, gritty, emotional journey that I hope you will enjoy as much as I did. Now I’m just waiting on book 2, which can’t get here soon enough!
The characters are well developed, the plot is interesting throughout it's twists and turns, and, as a reader, you get completely sucked into this Floridian world Ms McDonald has created.

I first read this online years ago and really liked it then but the changes she made were exactly what this story needed! I'm totally loving this one. I'm now anxiously awaiting book 2 "The Certainty of Deception" (due out in June of this year).

These characters are easily people you could know that are faced with hard situations that happen any day.

My suggestion pick this one if you want development in characters and plot.
Just finished this 1st book today. I absolutely loved the story and the characters. I felt like I knew them personally. I know book 2 comes out on the 25th so I am so so excited about that. If you like romance that is sweet and adorable with some mind blowing angst then this is the story for you. I am just hoping with everything I have that there is a HEA for Drew and Kenz. And I hope that it turns out Olivia is a total liar because she is one crazy selfish person. I'd like to see Jared happy as well but not with Kenz. Kenz and Drew belong together because they both deserve their happiness and a future together. I will be so heart broken if they don't. Buy the book it is worth it even if it does have a big cliffhanger you won't have to wait too long.
I started this book knowing that it was previously a fanfiction. I haven't read the fic yet, but I'm starting it as soon as I finish this review.
Where do I start?! Truthfully this book started out a tad slow for me, but I have ADD and am impatient, lol. But as I kept reading, I got more and more into it. You could tell from the moment they met, that Drew and Mackenzie had an attraction to each other.
When I first read the summary, I pictured the movie Something Borrowed, which this book kind of is like, but different at the same time. Yes, Mackenzie has a best friend who is self absorbed, rude, and inconsiderate of anyone other than herself, and yes she falls in love with said best friend boyfriend, but that's mostly where the similarities end. I'm horrible with reviews, so I'll make this short, and I'm not going to give anything away....
I loved this book! it kept my interest and has me wanting more! I seriously can't wait till the second book comes out this summer, because I will completely devour it! I definitely recommend this book!!!
